Wythenshawe: 171/10 [48.2]
Glossop: 172/5 [37.3]
The 2XI recorded an impressive over one of their closest rivals, though, beating Wythenshawe at North Road.
Glossop restricted the visitors to 171/10, thanks largely to an excellent spell of bowling from the prolific Rob Adderley (4/41).
Wythenshawe had a couple of contributions from Muslapuram (39) and Sproston (34) to thank for their total.
Sam Dyson (2/44) and David Wilde (2/28) claimed braces, whilst Steven Bates (1/38) took a wicket of his own.
Glossop lost both David Wilde and Will Coates early in their pursuit of the target but Dan Eyre and Steven Bates rebuilt brilliantly.
The pair added 102 in just 19 overs before Eyre was bowled by Crowther for an explosive run-a-ball 59, including 9 x 4’s and 1 x 6.
Despite Adam Wilson and Dave Allen falling shortly after to leave Glossop 123/5, Bates stood strong at the other end as he and Sam Elliott won the game for the home side.
Bates, playing his first game for a couple of weeks, ended unbeaten on 60* whilst the importance of Elliott’s knock of 14* cannot be underestimated.
