After Saturday’s frustration, a strong 2XI were keen to get on with the cup game against Woodbank on Sunday and had reduced the visitors to 35/2 after 9 overs when once again the weather intervened.
Despite the best efforts of the players and umpires it wasn’t possible to restart the game and cup rules called for a bowl out.
After 18 consecutive misses, including a couple of wides and no balls, Second Team captain David Wilde finally produced a ball that hit the stumps and Glossop triumphed 1-0.
They progress to the quarter finals which will be played on 30th June and last night’s draw sees them at home again, this time hosting Clifton 2XI. The 45 over per side match starts at 1pm. Let’s hope for some better weather this time!
