Rob Adderley’s first 5-wicket haul since joining helped Glossop 2XI to a convincing win in their final fixture of a long GMCL Division 2 season.
Bowling first, the visitors produced an impressive display to reduce Prestwich to 89/10.
Prestwich, the only other 2XI in the league, struggled from the outset after excellent opening spells from Adderley (5/27) and James Eyre (2/21).
Congratulations to @bobbyadd who, after a lot of jug avoidance since joining, has finally taken his first 5 wicket haul with 5/27 from 15

Having been 27/6 from 17 overs, Aaryaman Roy and the rest of the lower order provided some resistance to push them up to a more respectable score.
Matt Kells (2/15) and birthday boy Dan Eyre (1/2) claimed the remaining wickets to set up a simple chase.
In reply, Dan Eyre and Tom Elliott raced out of the blocks as Glossop made light work of the sub-par total.
The pair got Glossop within 10 runs of victory before the latter fell for a hard-hitting 34, including 2 x 4’s and 2 x 6’s.
Eyre fell four balls later having smashed a brutal 45 from 39 balls, this time with 2 x 4’s and 3 x 6’s, to give Carter (2/23) his second wicket.
Glossop would win the game just two balls later after a huge six from Steve Wood (7*) and two wides from Qasim Memon.

The victory means they finished with 53 points in 10th place, in a 14-team division, and would have avoided relegation by 7 points had it still been in place.
