Hindley St Peters: 119/7 [22.0]
Glossop: 123/2 [18.4]
Despite the terrible weather around on Saturday, Glossop 2XI braved the conditions and recorded a convincing win over Hindley St Peters.
The weather had already taken the spoils at Roe Green where the 1XI were called off, but a 22-over game began at North Road.
The visitors were asked to bat first and looked to be on their way to posting a big total at 61/0 from the opening 8 overs.
However, Dave Allen struck three times in his first over to change the course of the game.
Allen would end up with figures of 5/32, whilst Steven Bates claimed 2/30 as Glossop restricted Hindley to 119/7 from their allocation.
In reply, Glossop made a steady start through Will Coates and Daniel Senior.
The opening pair put together 49 in 8 overs before the latter fell for a run-a-ball 22, bringing Dan Eyre to the crease.
Eyre too looked comfortable, scoring a quick 13 before a mistimed flick was caught easily off the bowling of Whitehead.
Coates was still going strong though, passing a composed half-century at the other end as Glossop neared victory.
Steven Bates (9*) and Coates (60*) knocked the total off with 3.2 overs remaining, thanks to a healthy portion of extras too, with the home side winning by 8 wickets.
