Hargreaves Steps Down As Skipper

With the season having ended, we can now announce that Will Hargreaves is stepping down as 1XI captain.

Will, who was in charge for 6 years, will remain at the Club, but feels it is the right time to step aside and hand the responsibility to another party.

During his time, Will captained in both the Lancashire County League and Greater Manchester Cricket League, as well as often captaining the LCL representative side in various interleague competitions.

Under his leadership, Glossop won the Walkden Cup in 2013 and finished as runners-up three times in the LCL.

He continued to be a threat with the ball, having taken over 350 wickets in the six seasons at the helm, whilst consistently providing crucial lower order runs every year.

Everyone at Glossop CC would like to place on record their thanks and gratitude for the work that Will has done during his time as Club captain.

The Club are especially glad to be keeping him at North Road for 2018 as the fight for promotion from Division 1 and an immediate return to the Premier League begins.

The new captain will be announced in due course.
