Glossop 2XI made it two wins in as many days with a magnificent performance against Prestwich at North Road.
Prestwich, the only other 2XI in GMCL Division 2 along with Glossop, were asked to bat first after David Wilde won the toss for the home side.
Rob Adderley and Sam Dyson continued their excellent form from the previous day as Glossop managed to restrict the visitors throughout.
The opening pair bowled brilliantly at the start, and then the end of the innings. Adderley finished with 4/33 off his 15 overs, whilst Dyson claimed stand-out figures of 4/25.
The spin of Dan Eyre (2/41) claimed the other two wickets as Prestwich struggled for the most part.
Only Daniel Ahern (31) and Qasim Memon (37) offered any real resistance as Prestwich limped their way to 140/10 in 49.1 overs.
After his brilliance with the ball against Swinton Moorside 24 hours earlier, Matt Kells claimed three victims behind the sticks as he resumed his role as stand-in keeper.
Glossop lost a flurry of early wickets in reply, despite David Wilde’s positivity at one end.
Dan Eyre (1), Steve Bates (3) and Liam Bottomley (0) all fell cheaply to Stephen Ritchie (2/32) and Oli Holt (1/37) respectively to leave Glossop reeling at 33/3.
Kells joined Wilde at the crease though and the duo put together a vital partnership which would lay the platform for Glossop to win the game.
They had accumulated 93 together, with Wilde also passing another half-century in the process, before Kells was eventually caught off the bowling of Memon for 38.
Dave Allen (5*) came to the crease with only 15 required and plenty of overs in the bank and he, along with Wilde (65*), saw Glossop safely over the line with 15 overs still remaining to claim another vital 5 points.
Glossop have another double weekend up next, travelling to Wythenshawe in the league on Saturday before playing Prestwich again, this time away, in the 2XI Cup competition.
