Looking to bounce back from their cup exit the previous weekend, Glossop hosted Woodhouses at North Road. The visitors won the toss and elected to bat first and made a steady start before 2 brilliant run outs from young Cameron Ball and skipper Will Hargreaves changed the course of the innings. Glossop introduced spin into the attack with Matt Sonczak and Will Hargreaves, taking 3-29 and 3-21 respectively, meaning Woodhouses faltered to 150 all out. In reply, Dale Pennington and pro Lee Dale made a blistering start; the former blasting his way to 60 before eventually holing out in the deep. Lee Dale continued the destruction with a free flowing 68*, ably supported by Oliver Kenyon (22*), as Glossop cruised to victory and reached the target inside 30 overs. Glossop remain within touching distance of the top of the table with a tough away fixture against DSL on Saturday.
In the reverse 2XI fixture, Glossop eased their way to victory over the Woodhouses outfit. Bowling first they managed to restrict the home side to 91 all out, Senior taking 4-20 and wickets shared around the attack. Glossop had no problems in chasing down the total on a small ground, captain David Wilde finishing 41* and Cole Turner 24* after some lusty blows, as Glossop won at a canter by 7 wickets. A comprehensive 5 point victory leading into next weekend.
