Glossop C.C. held its Junior Presentation Evening on Friday 2nd October. The clubhouse at North Road was packed to congratulate the award winners at U9 / U11 / U13 / U15 / U17 levels and listen to a review the season by the managers, A.J. Harris, the Director of the Academy of Derbyshire County Cricket, kindly volunteered to present the well-deserved trophies. There were awards for Batting , Bowling and Fielding at all levels . Clubman and Team Player of the season awards went to Oliver Hewitt at U9s, Tom Chambers and James Chattington at U11s, Gabriel Loiux at U13s, Charlie Megram and Alice Dyson at U15s and George Dyson at U17s. The U15s were Lancashire County League South Section winners, whilst the U17s reached the play-off final. At the end of the evening AJ presented Roger Mays, The Club’s Junior Co-ordinator, with a special trophy as winner of the Derbyshire Cricket Board Outstanding Coaching Achievement Award.for 2015. It will be interesting to see how the Junior leagues will be formed in the light of the new senior league structure, now that Glossop are in the Elite Division, but on evidence of this evening the future of the club is in good hands.
